King of Meat: Choose your Champion Campaign
01. Defining Product Requirements
02. Twitch Streamer Collaboration
03. Responsive Interaction Design
Before this campaign was dubbed Choose your Champion, we originally envisioned this experience to be called King’s Cup and work as a high-profile gaming tournament where top Twitch streamers would showcase the game’s building mode and cooperative gameplay mechanics. The project started out with minimal definition and lacked clarity on how creators would participate, what the challenges would be and how the event would play out while facing the strategic goal of maintaining top Twitch placement and driving user acquisition.
To resolve these ambiguities, I spearheaded the creation of a detailed requirements map and PRD (Product Requirements Document) to get alignment with all stakeholders. We worked together in a collaboration meeting to determine challenges, timelines and player touchpoints throughout the campaign.
Once the timeline was set, I led ideation sessions with the campaign managers to implement an adaptive design approach to accomodate yet-to-be created assets and show a wireframe of the entire campaign experience.
Once we were close to sign off and I had updated the design into hi-fi fidelity, the project had to drastically pivot due to budget changes and updated timelines. With these new updates, the project had to adjust to the following:
- Only ready-made components would be available to use since development time had drastically decreased
- The project went from featuring many well known streamers to only headlining two (in addition to three other european streamers)
While the marketing and campaign team took time to determine requirements, I crafted and demoed another version of the new project now titled: Choose your Champion to match the new experiene based on the undefined information given.
Since this new campaign featured extra Twitch drops, I proposed a new timeline to show how we gradually introduce and unveil new drops as the campaign evolved.
Once the framework and new requirements for the website were solidified, I worked to adapt the design to the CMS components we already had available to meet our looming launch date.
After getting final Twitch drop assets and actual Twitch streamer channels and times, I worked with the Web Content manager to adjust the final website to account for viewer information.
